Equine photography tour in New Zealand's north island 

March 21-28, 2026

Imagine; horses in redwood forests, on black sand beaches, on great sandy dunes, in turquoise waters and with vibrant mountain backdrops. In this tour we'll photograph horses in all of these beautiful locations that are typical for New Zealand. The north island is also known for geothermal, steamy and colorful landscapes which we'll be experiencing as well.

We will travel big parts of the north island and up to the Far North. This tour will offer a great variety of photoshoots consisting of horses in landscapes, horses in action, portraits in stunning locations and the element of wild horses. Our models will be of a variety of breeds including native breeds such as the Kaimanawa horses. We will photograph horses individually, in pair and in herds. A great opportunity to create both artistic equine images and the classic striking horse photo for your portfolio.

This tour has a 7 nights, 8 days itinerary. Expect a minimum of 8 unique photo shoots with horses. Included in price is also a unique cave experience tour and ferry tickets to one island day visit.
